Graduate Department Introduction
This department was established as the Department of Social Work in 1962 and has
been
recruiting new students since 1963. The master's program was established in 1973, and the doctoral
program was established in 1977. Our graduate school has systematically conducted research and lectured
on Korean social welfare studies to train professors, researchers, and social welfare experts, and in
particular, our department has contributed significantly to the development of major social welfare
systems such as medical insurance and national pension.

Study plan
- - The applicant is to describe the motives for applying to graduate school (and this program
specifically), along with fields of interest, and other personal circumstances (residence,
workplace). The applicant is to write a detailed plan for academic performance after admission
- - such as what type of research or study plans that they have during the program.

- - The quantity and format of the study plan are flexible
Research plan
- - The research plan should be written with a focus of writing the graduation thesis after entering
the university. In other words, the research plan should be related to the topic of intended
graduation thesis.
English examination
- - In our graduate school, most of the textbooks are in English, and so this examination is done
beforehand to evaluate the English reading ability required for academic performance.
For applicants who studied in a different department and major in their previous degree
- - Applicants who majored in other departments must complete basic prerequisite courses or receive
approval from the head of the department and receive approval from the head of the graduate school
- - Master's degree program: 15 credits in prerequisite courses must be completed during their studies
- - Doctoral program: 9 credits in prerequisite courses must be completed during their studies
- - Even if you hold a social worker (level 1) certificate, those who majored in other departments
must complete the basic prerequisite courses regardless of the certificate that they hold

There are no separate selection criteria for applicants from other universities and other
majors
- - In this department, new students are selected fairly through admission documents and the interview
(English test) according to the same criteria for everyone.
